Our goal isn’t to confuse you about web design and web presence or make you dependent on us for the rest of your life.  The internet has evolved to the point that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you build a new site.  This is why we depend on Word Press for most of our site builds.  If you’re not familiar with Word Press, it’s a tool that was started strictly for blogging, but over the years has evolved to the point that you can create virtually any type of site you want with it.  Check out our portfolio to see just some of the sites we’ve built with it.  Plus, we like it for a few other reasons:

1. It’s open source, translation:  it’s free!  This means you won’t have to buy any expensive programs to help with the hard coding.
2. Design and content elements are separated like more sophisticated Web 2.0 sites.  This gives you the freedom to change the whole look and function of the site by changing the sites theme rather than building the site all over from scratch.  This way, as your business evolves your site can with it.
3. Tons of plugins.  Plugins are bolt on applications that add functionality to your site.  While some of these cost money, most are offered in the Word Press community for free.  There is no limit to what these cool little programs can do and since there’s a very active developer community, new plugins are being added on a daily basis.
4. Easy to update.  After our initial set up, creating pages and posts for your site are pretty easy.  We’ll even show you how to do it yourself!
5. Integration with other programs.  Word Press is an established and well respected tool online meaning that social media programs and services, autoblogging tools, and other web automation software can be added to your blog without any compatibility issues.

Even for it’s flexibility and ease of use, we understand that some people don’t want to be bothered with learning one more thing for their business.  You’re probably already a specialist of some kind and our goal isn’t to dilute your abilities or add unnecessary or unpleasant tasks to your daily workload.  That’s why we do offer site maintenance for these types of situations.  If you’re interested we’ll build that in to your package and offer program updates, additional maintenance, and site review to make sure that everything is running the best that it can.
