As you probably know, video is an incredibly effective way to communicate your message online and when done right, it can drive major traffic to your offer. What a lot of people don’t realize is that there are, in fact, many more video websites out there than just You Tube and the more places you get your video published, the more links you get.
Why Links Matter
Links are incredibly important for two reasons:
1. People are able to find your video on more than one site making it more available and easier to find online.
Believe it or not, not everyone uses You Tube and depending on the browser they are using, You Tube videos may not show up first when your prospective client does a search related to your video content. This basically gives you more chances to make that connection.
2. They can potentially give you backlinks to your main site page.
In the description section for the videos or in your profile account for that video site, many times they allow you to paste a url related to your video or company. This link, in SEO terms, then becomes a “backlink”. Google and other search engines will count the number of backlinks for sites competing for similar keywords in order to determine where to rank the page. These additional backlinks to your site could mean the difference between your company’s site showing up on the first or second pages and translate to hundreds of more visitors to your site. That is a total of 35 websites or 36 if you have us build you a You Tube Channel. Of those 35, depending on the content, sometimes the videos won’t be related to the website and won’t be accepted. Regardless, we’ll try to post your video to as many as we can, just realize that the actual number of links can vary between 15 and 36.
